I participated in the RE/MAX Asia Pacific Convention.

This is Yasukawa from RE/MAX Revo!
From September 1st to 3rd, 2024, the “RE/MAX Asia Pacific Convention” was held in Bali, Indonesia, bringing together RE/MAX members from across Asia and the Pacific. I couldn’t attend last year’s convention in Thailand, so I had been really looking forward to this event for the past year!

I participated in this convention in Bali with my wife and younger daughter. My older daughter, who just started junior high school this year, couldn’t join us as the event coincided with her exams, so she stayed home. I was a bit worried about leaving her home alone for such a long period, but my brother and his wife, who live on the floor below us in the same building, offered to take care of her. It was great to see that my older daughter felt reassured and was even looking forward to it.

We flew from Fukuoka to Bali via Singapore’s Changi Airport, taking about nine hours in total. During the trip, I wore the RE/MAX hat I bought at the spring convention, keeping the RE/MAX spirit alive throughout the journey.

Additionally, I had started studying English before the trip, so I was really excited to see how much I could converse in English this time.

Arrived in Bali!

We arrived at the Hilton Bali Resort, the venue for the convention, and after completing the check-in process, we stepped out into an incredible view of the Indian Ocean stretching before us. From our room, we could see the beautiful ocean beyond the pool, offering us the perfect location.

Relieved to have safely arrived at the hotel, the three of us toasted with water. I am filled with gratitude towards the RE/MAX Indonesia team for providing such a wonderful venue and accommodation.

Hotel Exploration and Bali Sightseeing

On the morning of the 2nd day, we had breakfast at the hotel and explored the grounds. We checked out the amazing pool and beach, as well as the convention venue. The RE/MAX balloons decorating the area really lifted the mood.

Since the reception party was in the evening, we used the time to do some sightseeing around Bali. We visited a park with a massive monument called Garuda Wisnu Kencana. We enjoyed walking around the park and watching a traditional Balinese cultural show.

Afterward, we returned to the hotel and spent some relaxing time by the pool.

Reception Party Held at a Stunning Location

In the evening, we took a bus for about 30 minutes from our hotel to a venue called Rocka Sea House. The traffic in Indonesia, especially the number of motorbikes, was overwhelming, and it made me realize once again how well-organized Japan’s transportation infrastructure is.

The venue had a stunning location overlooking the ocean, with a pool and RE/MAX decorations. As night fell, local shows and club music created a lively atmosphere.

Over 300 members from more than 20 countries participated in this convention, and the reception party was held in grand style.

Workshops, Networking, and Night Safari

On the 3rd day, various workshops were held at the Hilton Bali’s convention hall. In addition to members from across Asia, RE/MAX members from the U.S. and Canada also served as speakers, making the workshops highly informative and enriching. From Japan, Owner Shimizu and Owner Hirose gave presentations on the excellence of Japanese real estate, and being abroad provided an opportunity to once again appreciate Japan’s strengths.

After the workshops, a “Referral Exchange” took place, where different countries set up booths to network and share information. Besides exchanging real estate insights, we also enjoyed cultural exchanges by sharing souvenirs from each country.

In the evening, we visited a zoo in the Ubud area for a night safari. Seeing lions and elephants up close was breathtaking and truly awe-inspiring.

Final Day of the Convention

On the final day of the convention, various training sessions were held from the morning. We learned about the digitalization of real estate and heard success stories from regions where RE/MAX has experienced rapid growth, making it a day full of valuable insights.

In the evening, the closing session took place, followed by a gala dinner that we enjoyed with our families. During the dinner, awards were presented to various countries, and the location for the next Asia Convention was announced. It was revealed that the next event will be held in Mongolia, a country that has seen remarkable economic growth in recent years. Mongolia now has about 100 RE/MAX offices and over 1,000 active agents. This time, more than 130 members from Mongolia participated in the convention, showcasing the country’s impressive momentum.

I’m already looking forward to next year’s event in Mongolia. The evening concluded with everyone dancing to music, bringing the party to a joyful close.

Return via Singapore

On the final day, we returned home via Singapore. Since our flight from Singapore to Fukuoka was a late-night one, we had some time to explore the city. The view from the Marina Bay Sands observation deck was truly breathtaking, and we were able to enjoy the spectacular light and water show as well.

This trip brought many new encounters and learning experiences. I felt the vastness of the world and was deeply impressed by the rapid development and energy of Asia. At the same time, it was an opportunity to once again appreciate the value of Japan and RE/MAX. I also realized anew that I am not working alone but am supported by my family and colleagues.

The next Asia Convention will be held in Mongolia, and I am determined to face my daily tasks diligently so that I can participate again.
